InFocus, an international provider of ophthalmology clinical research and development services, recently named Texas Retina Senior Clinical Research Coordinator Melissa Alva as a “Top Study Coordinator in Retina Clinical Research for 2024,” in recognition of her exceptional dedication, expertise and remarkable work. Melissa was one of 11 outstanding study coordinators worldwide to receive this recognition for their impact on retina research. InFocus recently held a celebration to honor their contributions to advancing clinical trials and improving patient care.

Melissa has been a part of Texas Retina for 17 years. She currently works in our Arlington office, helping to enroll patients in clinical trials and serving as their primary point of contact throughout their participation in research studies. Melissa also assists Wayne A. Solley, MD, who serves as a Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials each year for conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic macular edema and retinal vein occlusion.

“We are so fortunate to have people like Melissa in our Texas Retina Arlington Study Department, and it is no surprise to me that she is being recognized,” said Dr. Solley. “Congratulations, Melissa, on a well-deserved award, and thank you for representing us so well on the national stage.”
