Texas Retina’s Christopher G. Fuller, MD, presented an animated surgical video describing new and innovative approaches to retinal surgery at the 13th Annual Vit-Buckle Society Meeting held March 20-22, 2025, in Austin, Texas. He also earned the first-ever “Best Western” Buckle award from The Vit-Buckle Society, which recognizes presenters for the excellence of their work.

Founded in 2005 as a non-profit, voluntary organization dedicated to enhancing retina education, The Vit-Buckle Society provides an open forum that mentors developing vitreoretinal surgeons, nurtures innovative surgical technologies and therapeutic approaches for retinal diseases, and fosters best practices.

About Christopher G. Fuller, MD
Born, raised and trained in Texas, Dr. Christopher Fuller completed his fellowship at Texas Retina in 2009. He went on to serve as a vitreoretinal surgeon in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and then Houston, Texas, before returning to Texas Retina in 2016, where he serves patients in our Lubbock office. Dr. Christopher Fuller is one of three Dr. Fullers to serve Texas Retina, along with his father Dwain Fuller, MD, who retired at the end of 2020, and his younger brother Timothy S. Fuller, MD.

In addition to his recent presentation at The Vit-Buckle Society, Dr. Christopher Fuller recently won “Best of Show” at the Telluride Retina Film Festival, a conference that brings together retina specialists from throughout the Western hemisphere to showcase and discuss their surgical skills through film.
