Texas Retina Associates welcomes ophthalmologist and retina specialist Nikisha Kothari, MD, to our practice starting August 19, 2019. Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and macular holes, Dr. Kothari will serve patients in our Grapevine and Arlington offices.
Dr. Kothari comes to us from Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) where she completed her fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery. Prior to that, she completed her ophthalmology residency at top-rated Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. She earned her medical degree from the University of Miami – Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, Dr. Kothari has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in international journals and has also presented at international meetings.
