Texas Retina Associates is pleased to welcome board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist Diana M. Laura, MD, to our practice on September 1, 2022. Serving patients in our Dallas Main, Rockwall and Wichita Falls offices, she will provide care for a full range of vitreoretinal conditions, including macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachment, diabetic eye disease, ocular trauma, retinopathy of prematurity and other pediatric retinal diseases.
Dr. Laura comes to us from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami in Florida, where she completed fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery as well as her ophthalmology residency. While there, she also served as Chief Resident and as Co-Director of Ocular Trauma. Prior to that, Dr. Laura completed her internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, New York. She earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society, Dr. Laura is passionate about research to discover new and better treatments to restore and maintain vision. She has presented at national medical meetings and has also published numerous peer-reviewed articles in international medical journals, including Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology Retina, and the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
