World-Class Retina Care. Community-Based Caring.

About Us

Texas Retina Associates is Texas’ largest, most experienced ophthalmology practice focused specifically on the diagnosis and medical and surgical management of diseases of the retina and vitreous.

All of our physicians are fellowship-trained, and some even sub-specialize further to care for the most complicated retina conditions like ocular cancer and uveitis.

Most importantly, our team believes in caring for you as we would our own families. Our goal is always to achieve the best possible outcome through listening, educating and delivering personalized care.

Our History of Innovation

In 1966, Albert Vaiser, MD, began a private practice as the first ophthalmologist in Dallas specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. Then in 1968, William Snyder, MD, left the faculty at University of Texas Southwestern to join Dr. Vaiser in private practice. Their mission was to bring patients the newest and most proven techniques and treatments for management of diseases of the retina and vitreous.

As the practice expanded, William Hutton, MD, joined the group in 1973. His retina training had placed him in the forefront of physicians who had mastered the newly emerging technique of vitrectomy. The three became lifelong partners and friends. Anxious to advance care in their emerging field of medicine, they established Texas Retina Associates which has since grown to 15 offices throughout the state with 17 retina-fellowship-trained physicians.
